Urbana Officers Cleared In Use-Of-Force Investigation
(Urbana, IL) — A set of Urbana Police officers are cleared after a Use-of-Force investigation. The Champaign County State’s Attorney’s office and the Urbana Police Department conducted a joint investigation into an April 17th arrest in which a woman was struck as officers tried to arrest her. A video shared on social media showed the woman yelling at police while standing in the street. It also shows her fighting back against officers as they arrest her. The 21-year-old now faces charges of aggravated battery of a police officer. Officers say she appeared to be under the influence at the time of the incident.
