(Charleston), IL – Coles County Health Department is saddened to announce the death of Two additional Coles County residents with COVID-19. The individuals were residents at Charleston Rehab and Healthcare facility. We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and Charleston Rehab and Healthcare. We ask for respect and privacy as they mourn the loss of their loved ones in this very difficult time.
Coles County Health Department, (CCHD) was notified today of Nineteen additional laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases. Our total confirmed COVID-19 laboratory case count for Coles County is One-Hundred and Nineteen, with Eight currently hospitalized, Thirty-Seven recovered, Nine deceased, and Sixty-Five recovering. Coles County Health Department (CCHD) continues vigilant contact tracing following Illinois Department of Public Health protocol and guidance.
To date, the total cases associated with Charleston Rehab and Healthcare is Seventy-Three confirmed cases. The total Seventy-Three confirmed cases includes residents and employees. Not all of the Charleston Rehab and Healthcare employees live in Coles County. CCHD does not regularly identify the names of long-term care facilities with outbreaks of communicable diseases. However, in partnership with Charleston Rehab and Healthcare, the CCHD is identifying this facility to assist with communications to the community and family members of residents. Coles County Health Department continues to be in direct communication with IDPH, Charleston Rehab and Healthcare, as well as, long-term care facilities.
