According to the Illinois State Police, on Wednesday, June 17th at 11:19 a.m., Karen Condron of Effingham, IL was traveling westbound on I-70, when for an unknown reason, crossed the center median and continued driving westbound in the eastbound lanes; the vehicle then struck head-on with another vehicle who was eastbound. Karen was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the second vehicle, Travis Stroup, and passenger Courtney Stroup both on Indiana, were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
