(Washington, DC) — The Senate is setting aside 900-million-dollars for conservation in a new bill called the Great American Outdoors Act. The bill will permanently provide funding to the Land and Conservation Fund to help secure land for trails and parks. They are also putting more than six-billion-dollars towards national park maintenance. The bill is being passed to the House and will be voted on next month.
