In an emergency Charleston School Board meeting this morning, leaders voted unanimously to pass a new plan for starting the school year.
Teacher institute days will be August 25th and 26th; remote learning planning days will be August 27th and 28th; and the start of the school year will be delayed by two weeks, to August 31st. And, the year will start with remote learning.
Action was taken based on the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in Coles County, particularly among youth, and the Orange level warning issued yesterday.
