A Louisiana man was arrested Sunday for stabbing a Mattoon man at his home on Moultrie Avenue. According to the Mattoon Police Department, 42-year-old Kevin Diggs was located and taken into custody at a Mattoon motel after they received an arrest warrant on suspicion of attempted murder. The victim received several defensive wounds to the arms. He was treated and released at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Police were notified about the incident when someone took the victim to the Mattoon Fire Department. No word on what led to the attack.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
