U Of I Students Save Trapped Snapping Turtle

(Urbana, IL) — A group of University of Illinois students from the Wildlife Clinic is being credited with saving a snapping turtle caught in a drain. The students responded last week to a report that the animal was stuck in a drain at the Stone Creek Gold Course. They lifted the drain cover so the turtle could escape from drowning. The students gave the turtle a checkup before releasing it in a nearby pond.
