Thursday, October 29, 2020, Ed Dowd, Executive Director of the Mattoon Chamber of Commerce was a guest on 101.3 WMCI. Here is a brief description of what he covered during the interview:
- As a friendly reminder The City of Mattoon has given the green light for Halloween trick or treating on Saturday from 6 pm to 8 pm. Remember, families and kids want to visit houses that have their outside and front porch lights on. It looks like the weather should be good. Have fun, and be safe!
- An important note to all businesses in our community, The State of Illinois amended the Illinois Human Rights Act (IHRA) and is now requiring all Illinois employers with one or more employees to provide sexual harassment prevention training by December 31, 2020 and once per year going forward. We are offering certified training for free to all Mattoon Chamber members, and at a rate of $150 for non member businesses. We created the certified training in partnership with the Lake Land College Center for Business and Industry (Lake Land College-CBI). Bonnie Moore, who is the Director of the Center and a member of the Mattoon Chamber Board of Directors, produced the training. You can email us at: director@mattoonchamber.com for all details.
