The Mattoon Community Trust Committee under the direction of the Mattoon Chamber as trustee is happy to report that five non for profit organizations will be receiving grants this year for worthy community projects.
Douglas-Hart Nature Center which is repurposing Ash trees infected by ash borer beetles; Fit-2-Serve for expansion of their grade school farm to table community garden; The Mattoon Kiwanis Club for playground equipment at Cunningham Park;The Mattoon Dog Park to help start the project next spring; and the Mattoon Rotary Club for bike racks along the newly paved Prairie Grass Trail.
