Former Illinois State Senator Facing Charges

(Springfield, IL) — A former Illinois state senator is facing charges. A grand jury indicted former state Senator Sam McCann yesterday on charges of fraud, money laundering, and tax evasion. McCann allegedly misused more than 200-thousand dollars in campaign contributions and donations for personal expenses. He is also accused of concealing the fraud. McCann unsuccessfully ran for governor in 2018.
