The National Weather Service has issued two Hazardous Weather Outlooks for our listening area. Please be sure to look for your county.
This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Illinois, east central Illinois and west central Illinois for Cass-Champaign-Christian-Coles-De Witt-Douglas-Edgar-Logan-Macon-Menard-Morgan-Moultrie-Piatt-Sangamon-Scott-Shelby and Vermilion counties
DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT… Wind chill values of zero to ten degrees below zero will be common this morning, and reach 5 to 15 below zero overnight tonight into Saturday morning. Some light snow is possible tonight into Saturday morning with accumulations less than 1 inch.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY… Very cold weather will persist through the entire period, with the coldest conditions developing Saturday night through Monday. Wind chills are forecast to drop to 10 to 20 degrees below zero at times from Saturday night through Monday morning.
A winter storm is possible Monday and Monday night. While there remains considerable uncertainty on the track of this system, several inches of snow will be possible for portions of the region especially east of I-55.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT… Spotter activation is not anticipated through tonight. Though snow measurements will be appreciated.

DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY… Very cold weather will persist through the entire period, with the coldest conditions developing Saturday night through Monday. Wind chills are forecast to drop to 5 to 15 degrees below zero overnight Saturday night into Tuesday morning.
