One person was airlifted with serious injuries following an accident on I-70 in Fayette County last night, Thursday, February 11, 2021. According to the Illinois State Police, a vehicle driven by Duan Travis, of St. Louis, had slowed in traffic for unknown reasons when his car was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by William Free, of Champaign. Travis sustained serious injuries, and Free and passenger Natalie Free were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Free was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating a vehicle without insurance. Travis was issued citations for driving while license revoked and operating a vehicle without insurance.
