State Rep. Chris Miller: Design firm announced for new science building at EIU

Oakland, IL – The new science building project at Eastern Illinois University is moving forward with the announcement of the selection RATIO Architects, Inc. as the preferred architectural design firm for the project, according to State Representative Chris Miller (R-Oakland).

Illinois Capital Development Board (CDB) made the selection public today. The building will be 171,000 square feet and will be the new home of the Biological Sciences and Chemistry and Biochemistry departments. Miller said the project is a $118.8 Capital project.

“This is an exciting project for Charleston and the surrounding region,” Miller said. “I am pleased the Governor and the Illinois Capital Development Board (CDB) have released these funds and that the project is moving forward.”
