One person was seriously injured in a crash on Route 45 in Effingham County yesterday. According to the Illinois State Police, 21-year-old Elizabeth Feldhake attempted to avoid a car driven by 18-year-old Landon Black, of Effingham and struck a tractor-trailer driven by Timothy Dodson, of Polo, head-on. Black was attempting to pass Dodson’s vehicle, and then pulled onto the shoulder to avoid striking Feldhake’s car. Feldhake was hospitalized with serious injuries while Dodson and Black were uninjured. Black was charged with improper lane usage and improper overtaking on the left.
