Authorities Investigating Bomb Threat Made Against Marion High School
(Marion, IL) — Authorities are investigating a bomb threat made against Marion High School. The threat was made yesterday, and officials say it appears to be tied to allegations that the school’s girls track coach made racist remarks against a Black student athlete. The school received the call from New York yesterday morning. The caller threatened to blow up the school if coach Sara Baker wasn’t fired. Authorities swept and secured the school despite the threat level being considered minimal. Students were sent home early, and all on-campus events were canceled.
