Illinois Senate Considering Asian American History Proposal
(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois Senate is considering a proposal that would require students in the state to learn about the history and contributions of Asian Americans in society. Senate Democrats say the measure is significant during a time when racism and hate crimes against Asian Americans are spiking. The legislation passed out of the Senate Education Committee yesterday.
