Illinois Could Require Feminine Hygiene Products In All School Bathrooms
(Springfield, IL) — The plan to require schools in Illinois to offer feminine hygiene products in all of their bathrooms is a step closer to becoming law. The Illinois House yesterday approved the plan to offer pads and tampons in male and female bathrooms. Illinois schools are already required to offer them in women’s bathrooms. State Rep. Barbara Hernandez wrote the plan, and she says it will help all students to have access to pads and tampons. Republicans, however, question why boys as young as 10 need access to feminine hygiene products and wonder how schools are going to afford them.
