IL House Approves TEAACH Act
(Springfield, IL) — Illinois public schools could soon be adding Asian-American history to its curriculum. Yesterday, the Illinois House overwhelmingly passed House Bill 376, also known as the TEAACH Act. The legislation would require public elementary and high schools to teach a unit on Asian-American history. The bill awaits Governor J.B. Pritzker’s signature. The measure would go into effect for the 2022-23 school year if approved by Pritzker.
