The human remains found last week near Brownstown have been identified. According to Fayette County Coroner Dave Harris, the remains are those of Joel Anthony Mason, who was born in 1987. The last contact anyone had with Mason was in August of 2020. Anyone with any information that may assist in the investigation is urged to call the coroner’s office or the Illinois State Police.
