A 9/11 community remembrance will be held at Peterson Park in Mattoon on 9/11. The ceremony will include first-hand experiences from the Mattoon Fire and Police Departments, United and American Airlines, and emergency room physicians, EMTs, and the U.S. Army. The memorial program will begin at 8:59am, signifying the time when the first tower collapsed.
