New Democrat Entering Field Against Davis As He Considers Options
(Springfield, IL) — A new Democrat is entering the field of challengers for Congressman Rodney Davis’ seat as the Republican considers his options. Labor activist Nikki Budzinski announced her candidacy yesterday. Budzinski has previously served as chief of staff for President Biden’s Office of Management and Budget. She also spent time as a senior adviser to Governor J.B. Pritzker and was the lead negotiator in the fight for a 15-dollar minimum wage in Illinois. Financial analyst and Democrat David Palmer announced his candidacy for the 13th District seat earlier this summer.
