Champaign School District Upping Security At High School
(Champaign, IL) — The Champaign School District is upping security at Centennial High School. The move comes after Centennial High and Jefferson Middle School were placed on lockdown in the middle of last week after an incident involving a student with a weapon. Security doors were installed at Centennial, and people entering are being manually checked in with handheld metal detectors. Some parents are pleased with the measures, saying security patrols and hundreds of security cameras are being added for all the schools in the district.
