Woman Injured In Effingham County I-70 Crash

(Effingham County, IL) — A woman is injured after a fiery crash in Effingham County along I-70. Illinois State Police say a pickup towing a car on a trailer attempted an abrupt U-turn east of the Altamont exit, and the trailer was struck by an SUV driven by 50-year-old Valerie Williams. Williams escaped the SUV after it caught fire and was airlifted to the hospital in unknown condition. The pickup driver was cited for improper lane usage.
