Traffic Incident on I-57 Causes Delays

UPDATE: 3 PM CST

I-57 South is open but the truck tractor/semi is still on the right shoulder near milepost 218.

A second crash is northbound around Milepost 217 and the right lane is blocked as a result.

According to the Illinois State Police, a semi fire on I-57 South at Milepost 217 has caused the southbound lanes to be closed at exit 220.

Vehicles are being rerouted onto US-45 at exit 220 (Pesotum).

Please expect delays and seek an alternate route.
