IL Lawmaker Proposes Bill On Investigating Foster Care Reports
(Springfield, IL) — An Illinois lawmaker is proposing a bill aimed at investigating foster care reports. The bill filed by Representative Lakesia Collins would create a Foster Care Investigative Reports Commission, which would be tasked with determining if allegations are credible. Child welfare advocates say false reports can prevent a child from going to another foster home and even change the course of a child’s future.
