NBA Legend Sam Jones Dies
(Boston, MA) — NBA legend Sam Jones is dead. A spokesperson for the Boston Celtics confirmed he died Thursday night at the age of 88. The team released a statement noting the ten-time NBA champion was nicknamed “The Shooter” and “Mr. Clutch.” The Celtics pointed out Jones’ playing scoring average was greater than what he did in the regular season. The team described Jones as “one of the greatest champions in American sports.” NBA Commissioner Adam Silver released his own statement describing Jones as selfless and a teammate everybody loved.
