Authorities ID Man Who Drowned In Lake Vermilion

(Vermilion Co., IL) — Authorities are identifying the elderly man who drowned this week in Lake Vermilion in Vermilion County. The county coroner says James Walker went into the water Tuesday to try and get to his boat, which had floated away from the dock. He didn’t resurface, so a search and rescue dive team was called to the scene. The 79-year-old’s body was later recovered from the lake.
