A Mattoon man sustained serious injuries in a crash last night in Jasper County. According to the Illinois State Police, 43-year-old Georffery McGahey was southbound on North 600th Street when he left the roadway and overturned. He was flown to a regional hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was ticketed for driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to wear a seat belt, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Illinois State Police: All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
