FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON…
* WHAT…Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…Portions of central Illinois, east central Illinois and southeast Illinois, including the following counties, in central Illinois, Christian and Shelby. In east central Illinois, Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Edgar and Moultrie. In southeast Illinois, Effingham.
* WHEN…Until 1215 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 815 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported several roadways flooded due to heavy rain this morning. Up to 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include… Charleston, Mattoon, Effingham, Paris, Shelbyville, Sullivan, Marshall, Toledo, Pana, Casey, Altamont, Neoga, Teutopolis, Greenup, Assumption, Martinsville, Kansas, Ashmore, Windsor and Stewardson.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
