For Release
Early Voting Now Available in Illinois
Early voting will begin February 23rd and run through April 3rd.
The Early Voting location in Mattoon has moved from the Salvation Army Citadel to the United Christian Church at 200 Lafayette Ave East in Mattoon. The Church is located south of Big Lots and the voting entrance is on the North side of the building. Anyone in any precinct may vote Early there or at the County Clerk’s Office in Charleston.
You can go to the Coles county website at www.colesco.illinois.gov to see the sample ballot and other voting information.
Please remember that even though State statute requires the mailing out of an application to Vote by Mail, to all voters, it is not something you have to do. You can still vote in person at your polling place on Election Day, April 4, 2023, from 6am to 7pm.
If you would like to be active in your local elections, please consider being an Election Judge. You will find information on the website or you can contact the office.
Please call the County Clerk’s office at 217-348-0523 for any questions or concerns.
