SUMMARY
Senior maintenance technicians are looked upon by many to be the ones whom will get the job done. An approachable attitude with issues presented is a must. Senior technicians will be the ones who are depended upon to achieve a task where others may not succeed. In addition, changeover technician will be responsible for ensuring orderly and timely changeovers of machines during their shift. Along with the changeovers, the changeover technician will have responsibilities to train other technicians on how to properly changeover the machines. This includes development of standard procedures and documents accordingly.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Electrical ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial automated robotic machinery; including PLCs, frequency drives, and servo controls with 24V and 480 3 Phase.
- Machine changeovers from one product to another in a timely manner.
- Fast response for troubleshooting machine issues when called (cycle time slow, quality issues, repeated faults).
- Repairing, rebuilding, or replacing of broken parts.
- Assist other technicians and operators with any issues requested.
- Share knowledge to other techs regarding machine operation or repair.
- Training of new technicians will be required.
- Assist with engineering improvements while implementing those improvements.
- Offer ideas for improvements to machines to allow improved production, reliability, or safety.
- Fabrication, machining, and welding as required.
- Preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Make suggestions for improvement on preventive or predictive maintenance on machines.
- Responsible for keeping assigned machines in good operating condition (like new as possible).
- Follow all safety procedures all of the time.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Degree and/or certificate in college or vocational school with focus on mechanical or electrical field preferred.
- Industrial automated robotic electrical background, with troubleshooting, and repair is required.
- Knowledge of PLCs, frequency drives, and servo controls in automated machinery with 24V and 480 3 Phase required.
- Experience using fabrication workshop equipment a plus. (ex. lathe, mill, drill press, band saw)
- This will include welding, milling, turning, and drilling of new or repaired parts to ensure the machine is able to run in a respectable time frame.
- Use a broad range of hand tools to perform maintenance work on productions machines and related equipment.
- Assistance with installation of new equipment and supporting equipment.
- Able to troubleshoot an array of mechanical issues regarding highly automated equipment with little to no assistance.
- Make suggestions to management regarding process or machine improvements. This may require interaction with an engineer or manager to create drawings or part orders.
- Able to operate machines without assistance while troubleshooting a machine.
- Demonstrate to others what techniques should be used when repairing or troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Communicate effectively with teammates and supervisors.
- Sense of urgency is shown through troubleshooting and repairs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- Requires the use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protection, and hardhats. Jewelry is not permitted.
