Charleston Loads the Bases with Mayhall on its Administrative Team
The Charleston Board of Education employed Blain Mayhall as Charleston Middle School Assistant Principal at its regularly scheduled monthly meeting last night.
CHARLESTON, IL – Blain Mayhall of Charleston, Illinois will assume the position of Charleston Middle School Assistant Principal for the Charleston Community Unit School District #1 effective July 1, 2024. The Board approved Mayhall at its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Wednesday evening.
Currently serving as a dean of students at Charleston Middle School, Mayhall brings his teaching and coaching experiences to support the needs of Charleston Middle School.
Mayhall is looking forward to continuing to serve the students and staff of Charleston Middle School. “Charleston Middle School has been my home since 2006. I have been blessed with the opportunities to teach and coach the wonderful students of this community. My experiences, including dean of students, have prepared me for my next journey in administration,” Mayhall said. “I am honored and excited to continue serving the staff, students, families, and community of Charleston,” he said.
A native of Neoga, Illinois, Blain graduated from Neoga High School, attended Greenville College, achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University in 2002, and earns his Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership this spring. Blain has served as a teacher for students with special needs for the Eastern Illinois Area of Special Education and at Charleston Middle School. He has also coached softball, basketball, and track and field in the district since 2005. He has served Charleston Middle School as its dean of students and athletic director since 2020.
