Camp New Hope in Neoga is getting ready for another summer season, and they’re asking the community to come out and help make it happen.
Camp New Hope, which has been a cornerstone of the surrounding area since 1977, is hosting a ‘Spring Cleanup Day’ on Friday, May 9th, starting at 8:00 a.m. Volunteers are asked to come help clean, organize, and prep the campgrounds ahead of what looks to be another busy summer for campers. There is no set end time for the cleanup. Staff members are asking volunteers to simply stay as long as they can, because every hour and every set of hands will make a difference in getting the grounds ready.
Whether you can spare an hour on your lunch break or make a full day of it, Camp New Hope says all help is welcome. Bring the family, round up some friends, or come solo and use it as a chance to meet the Camp New Hope community. Lunch will be provided by two local favorites, JD’s SmokeShack and Country Bake Shop, so you won’t be working on an empty stomach! It’s a great excuse to get outside, enjoy a Spring day on the camp grounds, and be part of something that matters to a lot of kids and families in our communities.
