The road across the main dam at Lake Shelbyville will be closed starting next Monday, May 18th at 8 a.m. and is expected to remain closed through Thursday, May 21st until 5 p.m. The closure applies to both vehicles and any pedestrian or bike traffic, and access to the Dam West Overlook Area will also be shut down for most of next week. The closures have been set in place to keep both workers and the public more safe while work is being conducted on that stretch of pavement.
The Army Corps of Engineers says it understands it’s an inconvenience but would appreciate the public’s patience.
