Eastern Illinois football kicks off 2026 with a Week Zero matchup Thursday, August 27, at former OVC rival Murray State. This season, the Panthers were picked seventh in the OVC preseason poll, with UT Martin named the favorite. EIU opens conference play Saturday, October 10 at Gardner-Webb, then hosts Lindenwood Saturday, October 17 at O’Brien Field.
