Eastern Illinois University has named Mark Wilson as its next Director of Athletics. Wilson brings more than 30 years of NCAA Division One leadership, including 21 years as A-D at Tennessee Tech, where his programs won more than 45 OVC championships and made 18 NCAA postseason appearances. EIU President Jay Gatrell praised Wilson’s vision, integrity, and FCS experience. Wilson begins September first, 2026, becoming the 11th full-time athletic director in Panther Athletics history.
