Eastern Illinois volleyball opened the season with a thriller, stunning Santa Clara in five sets with a reverse sweep. After dropping the first two sets, the Panthers roared back, taking the final three behind a huge offensive surge. Katie Kopshever led EIU with 18 kills, while Peyton Castillo added 39 assists. Ariadna Pereles tallied 16 digs, and Emma Hanson posted six blocks in her Panther debut. EIU wins it: three sets to two.
