In the Apollo Conference opener for both teams, Mattoon swept Charleston by scores of 25-11, 25-19.
Ella Hilgenberg led the Greenwave offense with six kills. Marissa Waggle added five kills and an ace. Zion Johnson collected four kills, two blocks, and an ace.
Kaydence Hein led the Lady Trojans with six kills. Sadie Phillips had three kills and an ace. Charlie Milton served up a pair of aces.
Mattoon improves to 2-1 overall, 1-0 in the Apollo. Charleston falls to 0-3, 0-1.
