Illinois Wheat Development Board to Elect 3 New Members
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) announced today an election will be held on October 28, 2026, for two (2) board members in the following Illinois Wheat Development Board Districts (IWDB) three (3) and six (6) as well as one (1) statewide At-Large Board Member. As no formal petitions were filed for these vacant board positions, producers of Illinois wheat residing in these Districts may participate in the October 28, 2026, election as a write-in candidate. Producers must be of legal voting age, reside in the district for which they are running and be a qualified producer of wheat. At-large write-in candidates may reside in any of the IWDB Districts.
Absentee ballots are available to those not available to vote in person by contacting IDOA at 217-524-1083 or by email at agr.marketnews.illinois.gov. In-person voting will take place at the county Farm Bureau offices in Illinois during normal business hours.
