EIU Swimming Highlight

Eastern Illinois swimming made a splash in the home opener, sweeping the dual meet in dominant fashion. The Panther men rolled to a 195-65 win, while the women powered past their opponent 175-86. Poyraz San Askin stole the spotlight, breaking the men’s 1650-yard freestyle program record in 15:46.69. Jenna Patridge led the women with two backstroke wins, including a 100 back time tied for fifth in school history. Relay victories capped a commanding day for EIU in the pool.
