Eastern Illinois Foodbank Names Sue Grey Interim President & CEO
URBANA, IL (October 20, 2026) — Eastern Illinois Foodbank today announced the appointment of Sue Grey as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer. Grey brings more than 23 years of nonprofit leadership experience, a strong understanding of community-based organizations, and longstanding relationships with many of the partners and stakeholders who are important to the Foodbank’s work.
As Interim President and CEO, Grey will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and community partners to ensure the continued strength of the organization’s programs, operations, and community impact. The Board of Directors will oversee the organization’s leadership transition and determine next steps in identifying a permanent President and CEO.
“Eastern Illinois Foodbank has a strong foundation built on the dedication of our staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners,” said Katie Fidler, Acting Chair of the Board of Directors. “We are confident that Sue will provide thoughtful, steady leadership as we continue our important work of ensuring our neighbors have access to the food they need.”
The Board of Directors also extends its sincere appreciation to former President and CEO Kelly Daly for her 27 years of dedicated service to Eastern Illinois Foodbank and her contributions to advancing the organization’s mission.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this organization and the communities that depend on us,” said Grey. “Our mission remains our guiding priority, and I look forward to working alongside our dedicated team and community partners to continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors.”
As the organization moves forward, Eastern Illinois Foodbank remains committed to its mission, its community partnerships, and the neighbors who rely on its services. Programs and operations will continue as usual throughout this leadership transition.
