Kansas CUSD #3 has found its next leader for the foreseeable future!
The District’s Board of Education announced that Richard Stuart has been selected as their next superintendent, following what some School Board members described as an “extensive search and interview process.” Our listeners in the Mattoon area are all too familiar with Mr. Stuart, who currently holds the position of Principal at Mattoon High School.
Board President Gabriel Boedecker said the decision came after careful consideration of several highly qualified candidates, with the board focused on finding someone who could build strong relationships while supporting students, staff and the broader community. “We believe Mr. Stuart will bring valuable experience, perspective and leadership to our district, while embracing the close-knit relationships and sense of community that make Kansas CUSD #3 special,” Boedecker said.
As the transition moves forward, the board says there will be opportunities for students, families, staff and community members to get to know Stuart before he officially steps into the role. “We are excited about what lies ahead and look forward to working together as we continue building upon traditions and strengths of our district while creating new opportunities for our students,” Boedecker said on behalf of the board.
From one local school district to another, we wish Mr. Stuart best of luck in his next stop!
