Budzinski Earns Perfect Score on Human Rights Campaign’s 119th Congressional Scorecard
SPRINGFIELD, IL – Earlier this week, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, awarded Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski (IL-13) with a perfect score of 100 on its Congressional Scorecard for the 119th Congress. HRC recognized Budzinski for voting with LGBTQ+ Americans on every key vote the organization tracked this Congress.
“I’m grateful to the Human Rights Campaign for this recognition,” said Congresswoman Budzinski. “Families in Central and Southern Illinois deserve the same shot at a good job, an affordable home, and health care they can count on, no matter who they are or who they love. I’m going to keep working in Congress to protect the LGBTQ+ community in my district from attacks and ensure their needs are represented in Washington.”
The Human Rights Campaign’s Congressional Scorecard rates every Member of the House and Senate on how they vote on key legislation affecting LGBTQ+ Americans. That includes support for bills that protect LGBTQ+ people from discrimination, and opposition to measures that would restrict transgender rights, marginalize LGBTQ+ families, or make it harder to vote. HRC is the nation’s largest LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, with 4 million members and supporters.
